1) Her is the best film of the year, already winning a Golden Globe for best screenplay. Her, set in the not-so-distant future, tells the story of Theodore, who is just recovering from the break-up of his marriage. He decides to buy an OS named Samantha, an “operating system” with a personality.
As Theodore begins to have feelings for his OS, the film slowly blossoms into an incredibly emotional, yet quite unusual love story.
2) The Wolf of Wall Street is one of the top films of the year. It is intense, vulgar and funny from the opening shot to the credits. The film talks about the wild rise on Wall Street, implying that it leads to the eventual descent into a life of con artistry, drugs and violence.
3) American Hustle is a story of crime and corruption. Loosely based on the Abscam Scandal, American Hustle proves to be able to leave you biting your teeth.
4)Anchorman: The Legend Continues
Anchorman 2 tells the story of Ron Burgundy and his crew’s comeback to the newsroom. The film satires much of the news format that we see on television today.
5) Lone Survivor
An explosive thrill ride from beginning to end, Lone Survivor is one of the best war films in years. The film, based on the novel, tells the true story of four Navy Seals who choose to release Taliban prisoners from their captivity during Operation Red Wings.
