STH to host benefit for Redden family

There will be a benefit game held for the Redden family March 21s when the Eagle baseball team faces off against the Episcopal Knights. Tim Redden Sr. passed away on February 4 due to complications with kidney cancer. Redden is the father of graduate Tim Redden Jr. and former student Tucker Redden.

Tucker Redden is a senior at Rockport High School, He and his family moved to Rockport to return to the hometown of Tim Redden Sr. during the last months of his life. The baseball team is having a game dedicated to the Redden family in hopes that they can raise some money for the family. 100% of the money raised by the baseball team will be given directly to the Redden family.

“It is a great opportunity to help out a fellow Eagle, somebody who we were all very close to and that we all care about.”

At the game there will be a raffle for two courtside Rockets tickets with post game court access for a picture on the Rockets logo. There will also be several silent auction items, along with slow cooked barbeque.

Some of the silent auction items include a Clyde Drexler signed basketball and jersey, Craig Biggio signed baseballs and pictures and a weekend stay at a bay house. There will also be several other auction items full of great items.

All of the entrance fees will go directly to the Redden family as well as the proceeds from the concession stands. The baseball team’s goal is to raise $10,000 for the Reddens, even though it will only make a small dent in what they need. The support they receive from the community will mean a lot to the family.

We are hoping to have as many students and parents at the game as possible so spread the word and let your parents and friends know. This is all for a great cause and the team is hoping to have as many people come to the game as possible.
