The last year’s golf team after their tournament in Palm Springs, California. The three returning players are Henry Fisher, Curtis Brady, and Henry Suman.

Last season, the golf team performed at the top level among all private schools in the state, finishing in third place at the TAPPS 5A state championship.

This year, they hope to return to the the state championship and bring back a victory. They have finished 1st, 3rd and 2nd in state and hope to bring back 1st place to add to the immense number of state championships.

The Eagles have won the prestigious Dick Harmon Memorial Golf Tournament two times in the past four years and hope to bring that number to three out of the last five this season. With the departures of Ryan Baker and Clay McCrory, the Eagles hope to fill the void that they have left. Their performance in tournaments proved that they were a two-headed monster.

But now, the team has a three-headed monster in Curtis Brady, Henry Fisher and Henry Suman. Others golfers who will figure to have an important role include Cameron Condara, Garrett Sorrels, Nolan Rizzo and Ryan Risoli. The golf team has immense depth that can lead them to numerous tournament wins and give them enough momentum to win state.

With the power and depth, the golf team has lots of reasons to be excited for the upcoming season. Head golf coach Billy Tuten expects the team to go out and play their best in every tournament. And that is exactly what they do. Senior Henry Fisher is poised for a breakout season this season as he hopes to continue his run to the top. The golf team just finished their first tournament, which was held in El Paso. The whole team missed two days of school to make this trip, and it was a worthwhile endeavor.

Henry Fisher led the Eagles, with a stellar second place finish. Fisher carded rounds of 75-70-73 en route to a two over par 218. Curtis Brady finished not far behind, in third place. Brady had rounds of 75-76 in the first two rounds, but he came back strong in the final round firing a 2-under par 70.

Seniors Ryan Risoli, Cameron Condara, and Nolan Rizzo also finished strong and hope to gain momentum for the season. The golf team hopes that this strong outing will help set a good precedent for the rest of the season to come. The golf team next has the Central Texas Boys Shootout on November 20 in Waco, Texas. Henry Fisher hopes to continue his breakout season in quest for another state championship.

Curtis Brady, Henry Suman and the entire team hope that this tournament gives them a bigger spark to perform at the next level and win state.
