317

JMBLYA Fest is a the place to be if you want a SXSW dedicated to hip-hop and only hip-hop. This year’s JMBLYA Fest is going to take place in both Dallas and Austin, both a day apart from each other. The Dallas JMBLYA Fest will be on May 13th while the Austin JMBLYA Fest will be on May 14th. Trying to cop some tickets for the festival will prove to be a difficult task as a majority of them are sold out. The featured artist list proves to be great as always consisting the talents of: Future, Rae Sremmurd, Carnage, Kevin Gates, Kehlani, Keith Ape, Jazz Cartier, Noodles, and Post Malone. With a list like this, expect your body to ache the day following. We will discuss some of the more prominent acts.

5. Keith Ape

A South Korean native, Keith Ape’s origins should not deter you from listening to his sound. Trust me, it is a good sound. Expect Keith Ape to perform the absolute banger “It G Ma” and expect at least a surprise appearance from one of the following features on the song: A$AP Ferg, Father, Waka Flocka Flame, or Dumbfoundead. If you have not heard of Ape, stop sleeping on him

4. Post Malone

As a Dallas native, Post Malone had already made strides in Texas before his hit debut single “White Iverson” peaked at 14 on Billboard. Although it is not entirely clear what Post will perform at JMBLYA as he has not released any full-length albums but you should expect his top hits and some songs where he was featured like Kanye West’s “Fade”.

3. Future

Everybody knows who this guy is. Hailing from Atlanta, Future gave us his iconic auto-tune voice in three albums spanning over three consecutive years. Future’s grind is definitely one to admire. Expect him to perform hits from EVOL and DS2, his two newest and most prominent albums.

2. Rae Sremmurd

Not much has been heard from these two since their lucratively successful platinum-certified singles “No Flex Zone” and “No Type,” but expect to hear them perform some songs from their second studio album SremmLife 2.

1. Kevin Gates

Everyone is going to be expecting a great performance from Kevin Gates and they will not be disappointed. Gates’ debut studio album Islah peaked in the Billboard 200 at number 2, a feat that literally nobody expected. Gates’ Islah has attracted the attention of people everywhere whether they are a critic or a fan. Gates’ performance is not one that you want to miss.
