Cross country team scratches 2nd place finish at district meet

The cross country team, coached by Nathan Labus, traveled to Tomball on Tuesday for the TAPPS 3-6A district meet and secured a position at the state meet with their second-place finish. The ten runners chosen for the 5,000-meter varsity race were Blazek Skucius, Travis Enochs, Juan Vazquez, Jack Heymach, Cesar Trevino, Isaiah Garcia, Ben Bludau, Francisco Narro, and Christopher Schlak.

The varsity team came in second place with 48 points and this position sends them to the state meet in Waco, TX. The JV team came in first place with 27 points and with Kenny Vandoren ’19 finishing first with a time of 18 minutes and 31 seconds. The team hopes to continue their success on October 30th at the state meet.
