Varsity Football to take on Beaumont Kelly

The Eagle Varsity Football squad, coming off a 31-28 win last week against Central Catholic High School, are  looking to defeat Beaumont Kelly this Friday at Hotze field to make their record 3-3 over the season so far.

Last season the Eagles beat the Bulldogs by a landslide and feel confident they can do it again. Offensively the eagles have been playing with a fiery passion. On the first drive of the Central Catholic game Matocha ’19 connected with Nelms ‘18 for a quick touchdown setting the tone early that the eagles came to play. Tight end Josh Madden ‘19 said that this week that the team needs to, “exploit the defense and drop a 60 piece on them!”

The defensive line’s solid performance was key to last weeks victory and they hope to repeat that performance this week..

“[The D Line] looked solid last week and we made a couple tweaks during practice so we are confident and ready to take on Kelly this Friday.” Offensive lineman Bryce Guidroz ‘19 said.
