The Eagle is the official award-winning website for the student newspaper of the same name. The Eagle has been the student newspaper at St. Thomas High School since 1929, and is published approximately every two weeks during the school year, except during final exams and holidays.
Letters to the editor must be received in advance of an issue’s deadline. All letters must be signed, including grade level if the writer is a St. Thomas student. Anonymous letters will not be printed. Letters should not exceed 250 words in length. Letters may also be published on our website.
The editor reserves the right to edit and reject letters, but he will print most letters as they are when submitted. Submit all letters to the adviser, to any staff member or to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Unsigned editorials represent the majority opinion of The Eagle editorial board. All other opinion pieces represent solely the opinion of the piece’s author and not that of the moderator, the staff or the school.
The Eagle is intended as an open forum for all students with the purpose to inform, to entertain and to persuade its audience.
It is the policy of The Eagle to print information that is accurate and free from obscenity. If an egregious error occurs, The Eagle will print a retraction in the following issue.
The Eagle is intended as an open forum for all students with the purpose to inform, to entertain and to persuade its audience. To that end, visitors to our website are invited to participate in and foster that open forum by leaving comments on stories.

The Eagle reserves the right to moderate the comments posted to its website, including editing and deletion of content. Comments must be free of obscenity and must not personally attack any individual or group (i.e. ad hominem) regardless of whether said individual or group is related to the school.
The Eagle ultimately reserves exclusive right to edit and delete any content posted to its website, as well as exclusive right to interpret and apply these policies.
