New changes in service requirements

Staff Editorial

This year, Director of Campus Ministry Marty Matulia has made some changes in the service requirements and added some new incentives. The number of hours needed and the dates have not changed much, but here is what is new.

For those of you who got ahead of the game and finished your hours last year or this past summer, you get to be done early. If you completed your hours over the summer or before and confirm it with Matulia before Oct. 20, you do not need to complete a service contract, do not need to turn in a reflection paper and even receive five extra points on a Theology test.

If you complete your hours before the October deadline, there are also some new incentives. You receive an exclusive ticket to a BBQ tailgate hosted by senior Cameron Blackwood before a basketball game and a “Chuck Norris approved” service star t-shirt that will be approved to wear on certain days during the year.

As always, Matulia does not like tracking you down for your hours in the Spring, so rather than getting pulled out of class by him scrambling for a decent excuse as to why you have not finished all the requirements, finish your hours early this year and get the new benefits of being done.
