An unwelcome surprise awaited the varsity football team as they entered the locker room after practice on Sept. 13.
Someone had broken into approximately 14 lockers and stolen their contents: smartphones, car keys and cash.
The administration is still investigating the crime, but the coaches are assured that the culprit is not a student.
A freshman reported that he saw an unidentified man about 6 feet tall wearing a red shirt, a utility belt and garden gloves and wielding a bolt cutter in the locker room.
“Some of these guys are pretty crafty,” coach Tim Fitzpatrick said. “You would wish that they put themselves to good use instead of committing crimes.”
