On Monday Feb. 27, Team Hoyt came to Cemo Auditorium to share the incredible story of their journey.
Dick Hoyt participates in marathons and triathlons with his son, Rick, who is handicapped with cerebral palsy.
In 1977, Rick asked his father if he could compete in a run benefitting a lacrosse player who had been paralyzed.
Ever since, the pair have competed in over 1,000 events and 300 triathlons.
This April they will compete in their 30th Boston marathon, the one event that they participate in every year.
Their speech inspired the 200 attendees.
