Eagles garner success at TFA qualifier

The speech and debate team competed this past weekend at the Hockaday and South Houston TFA qualifying tournament. At Hockaday, seniors Daniel Morgan and Israel Sierra were octo-finalists in Public Forum. Senior Spencer Krumholz placed first in poetry, second in Humorous Interpretation, sixth in Dramatic Interpretation and Prose Reading. At South Houston, junior John Constantine placed ninth in Student Congress qualifying for the University of California at Berkeley tournament. Sophomore John Woulfe placed 10th in Student Congress, moving up to the JV debate squad. Sophomores Jonathan Beavers and Chase Brown were octo-finalists in Public Forum. Freshman Ryan Chandler was a semifinalist in Novice Extemp speaking. Senior Aman Grewal and sophomore Matthew Liebold were a semifinalists in Domestic Extemp. Junior Phillip Pinell and Freshman William Price were double octo finalists in Public Forum debate. Sophomore Thomas Quintero was a semifinalist in Student Congress. Freshman Jordan Broussard placed fourth in Novice Extemporaneous speaking.
