Spanish Club collects toys for underprivileged Hispanic children, spread joy of Christmas

The Spanish Club initiated a toy drive on campus starting the week of Dec. 2.
The toys that were collected are given to “Juguetes para el barrio,” a volunteer organization that delivers toys to children in underprivileged, Hispanic neighborhoods on Christmas Day.
Last year, the drive was a huge success. This year, the Spanish Club collected over 100 toys to give to this organization, which sets the standard even higher for years to come.
“It feels great knowing we did so much to help the local community, especially on Christmas,” Spanish Club Vice President Dennis Duffy said. “[The Spanish Club] just needs to build upon this next year.”
