Netflix’s original series Stranger Things first season was a huge hit. The series received a 96% on rotten tomatoes and 8.9/10 on IMDB making it the second highest rated show of 2016. Season two of Stranger Things has been highly anticipated and it’s release date is set for October 27th.
Stranger Things is set in 1983 in a small town in Indiana where a boy named Will goes missing. A massive investigation is launched and a series of strange occurrences and mysteries are revealed. Season two will contain the same characters along with several new characters. Many St. Thomas students are excited for the release of season two.
Senior Tomás Javier Gyarfas IV was skeptical at first about Stranger Things because it was out of his comfort zone of Gossip Girl and The Oprah Winfrey Show. However, he decided to see if the show lived up to the hype.
“I started watching episode one I was hooked and I couldn’t stop watching until the end, I even missed my daily badminton lesson that night” Gyarfas ‘18 said.
Gyarfas has watched season one twice and is currently watching it for a third time to prepare for season two. The expectations for season two are very high after the phenomenal first season.
“I expect it to be a thrilling season full of twist and turns but it will be hard to out do the insanity of season one but I believe the season two is going to do just that ” Gyarfas ‘18 said.
The season two trailer has given fans high hopes for this season and left them watching the countdown on Netflix. The trailer gave insights and previews of this upcoming season leaving fans of the show anticipating the moment it comes out.
“At first I was skeptical if season two could live up to season one but after seeing the trailer I have no doubt in my mind that it is going to top season one” Bennett Gist ‘18.
Seasoned Netflix enthusiasts have certain rituals they have for binge watching their favorite shows that they can almost guarantee will make your experience better.
“I’ve learned a thing or two in all my time laying on my couch watching Netflix for hours on end, but I’ll just tell you this, if their is anything to enhance any Netflix binge it is donnettes, lots and lots of donnettes”, Gyarfas ‘18.
