Varsity Football Coming with a Vengeance for Homecoming

The varsity football team did not look as good as usual during their lost to Cedar Hill last Friday. After keeping it close in the first half the Eagles seemed to fall apart and ultimately lose the game by a great margin of 66-23. This was a tough loss with the Eagles just coming off their first win against Stafford but they want to try to put things together in order to do better next week.

As the offense has been on fire for the last couple of weeks, Cedar Hill seemed to slow them down and hold them to only 23 points. The game seemed to be close at halftime, but Cedar Hill totally took over and ran away with the win. Peyton Matocha threw for 187 yards and a touchdown to go along with 47 yards on the ground and another touchdown. While these stats are impressive on their own, they aren’t quite as electric as they have been in past weeks, but he hopes to improve on that next week during the Homecoming game against China Spring.

The 3-2 China Spring Cougars are traveling to Granger Stadium to play the Eagles for the homecoming game. The team’s offense will need to return to their high scoring and electric style in order to come up with a dominating win against the Cougars. Everyone will be cheering on the Eagles to return back to their winning ways.
