When St. Thomas students work diligently and use their time wisely, they often end up with some free time during their day. One of the favorite pastimes among the students is watching movies. Movies give the students a great way to take a break from their classwork and enjoy great pieces of fiction. Among the students the taste for movies is extremely varied and presents a wide variety of personalities and tastes among the St. Thomas Students.
One of the most favorite types movies are action movies which give the students a way to see heroes in fiction. “My favorite movie is ‘Spider Man’ because of the fast paced action and the moral development of Spider Man into a hero,” William Clinton said.
William and many other students like action movies like ‘Spider Man’ because they present a really good character arc which is accompanied by some amazing fight scenes to help liven up the movies.
Another great genre for students is comedy movies which provides them with a great break during the day and a good laugh.
“My favorite movies are comedy movies, especially the ones with Will Farrell like ‘Elf’ and ‘Talladega Nights’ because they provide some of the best comedy you can find,” Henry Benoit said.
Comedy films are popular among St. Thomas students because they allow students to take a break and relax with some great comedy.
Another favorite which is especially popular around October is horror.
“My favorite movies are horror movies because they provide an unreal sense of suspense which draws me in,” Sam Haine said.
While horror movies might not be the best way to relax, they draw in students and give them a great way to escape from reality after a long day. Horror movies also provide a sense of thrill and suspense which is difficult to find anywhere else.
One genre which many students think is the best genre of all is Science fiction.
“I personally love Sci-fi movies like “Ready Player One” and “Back to the Future” because they give creative ways the future can unfold both good and bad,” Bryan Pluchinsky said.
Science fiction gives students a great way to view a possible future while still reveling in the fictional and almost magical parts of futuristic technology.
The genre which provides the most engagement from students and is well liked by almost everyone is Murder Mystery movies.
“I love mystery movies because they give me a way to relax while still keeping my brain active trying to solve the many mysteries,” Vontrell Benton said.
For Vontrell and many other students, mystery movies give them a way to stay engaged and figure out solutions to problems without having to do cumbersome school work.
From action packed superhero movies to suspenseful murder mysteries the movie tastes of the St. Thomas students are a great expanse which allow students to find what entertains them best. Movies provide a great way to take a break from school and relax after a difficult day. Movies also help students bond with their friends because they can watch movies together and talk about them afterward.
