Basketball team reaches TAPPS semi-finals

The basketball team is a crowd favorite around St. Thomas, even more so than our football team at some times.

At the beginning of the year hopes were high, but not as high as previous years because there are only 5 seniors on the varsity team this season.

The team had many notable wins over Strake Jesuit at home, St. Pius X twice, and against our other district opponents Beaumont Kelly and Concordia Lutheran.

This past weekend St. Thomas went up to College Station to win 2 straight games to advance them to the semi-finals on Friday March 4, against Prestonwood.

Prestonwood is a fierce opponent who breeds NBA players such as Julius Randle. Julius Randle now plays for the LA Lakers.

St. Thomas is confident in their abilities and ask for the support of the student body as they travel on Friday, 7:30 p.m. to Mansfield Timberview High School.

Joshua is captain of the St. Thomas Rugby Team. He is on St. Thomas Club, participates in the Choices Club, FCA, is a Senior Leader, and President of the Student Council Spirit Committee.
