Austin City Limits is a large music festival in Zilker Park, Austin and is a little bit of a hike and takes some cash.
Tickets range anywhere from $100 to $3,600 dollars. Cheaper tickets get you concerts and fun. Expensive tickets constitute VIP treatment with exclusive dinning opportunities, private tents, and ACL merchandise.
Because it is in Austin, there are three ways to travel. The first being a plane ticket with a flight lasting only thirty minutes. The second is a Mega Bus from Houston to Austin. This tour bus costs only $1, has free WiFi, and avoids the hassle of Austin traffic. The final is with a friend, but this requires similar taste in music, your own gas, and driving for three hours there and back.
Once in Austin, housing is net on your check list. ACL offers tickets which include upscale hotels close to Zikler Park. With these amenities, like VIP passes with a minimum of 3 days in a hotel, comes the high price of anywhere between $1,500 and $9,500. This deal may be too much, so finding a friend’s house to crash at is the next best thing.
The real draw is the amazing line up of the big names. Grammy winner Kendrick Lamar with his latest album “To Pimp a Butterfly” is one of the biggest artists. Another star includes his partner: SchoolBoy Q. A third prominent name includes Radiohead with their comeback album “A Moon Shaped Pool”. The folk band who rocked ACL last year, Mumford & Sons, will be back this year with their latest album “Wilder Mind”. Festival favorite DJ’s like Diplo, Major Laser, DJ Mustard, and Chainsmokers will be at ACL as a cannot miss.
ACL seems like a worthy expense. Big names, the close proximity, and the ability to get home and finish your responsibilities is a deal one should not pass up. This decision could not be easier.
