Basketball team travels to Canada

The basketball team will be heading up to Toronto to compete against St. Michael’s College School, another academic institution operated by the Basilian Fathers.

It will be the first time basketball has headed out of the country and it has the players and coaches really excited.

“It’s a business trip.”

Nick Lanza, senior

The squad will take on a very good St. Michael’s team and another skilled team in Canada and hopes to bring a few dubs back to the H. The team is radiating confidence and is eager to get up there. Their practices have been challenging, and the result is that the team is starting to gel.

“The whole team is amped to get up there and do what we do. We don’t plan on losing.”

Max Vosloh, junior sharpshooter

The game will be an in-school contest and St. Michaels and their crowd will be eager to play because of how the eagles trounced them last year. Coach Kwok is confident in his team and their abilities.

“We get to play SMCS during an in school game in Toronto.  Last year, it was a close game and we made a late run to win by double digits. We’ll have a brand new starting line up in that game which is very talented. Our returning players will fill the void left by the seniors and will play like veterans.”
