One Way Hallway Woes

One Way Hallway Woes

I believe the new One Way Hallway’s are extremely inefficient and unnecessary. The new system leaves both new and returning students frustrated and confused.

Students new to Saint Thomas who aren’t familiar with our campus find themselves confused about location and proper route to a class and teachers are forced to delay their lesson to accommodate for the students who are late because of the hallway system. Students have done an amazing job adapting to many new procedures, such as wearing masks, sanitizing their desk/workstation, and staying six feet apart; however, many new students have not been able to adapt to the hallway system.

I believe One Way Hallways can be reformed to maximize efficiency and effectiveness; I suggest we publish maps in each wing detailing the way to get to each other major wing, banners can be posted which show what classes can be accessed by each path, and a temporary lift on tardies. A new and improved hallway system combined with other effective Covid-19 procedures will allow the Saint Thomas community to get back on campus faster.
