Lockers
With the new hybrid model one of the things that came with it was the cutting out of lockers, and with this has come numerous struggles for the students of St Thomas. Eagles are forced to carry around their books, lunchboxes, materials, and many other items around all day whether they are needed at the time or not. Many students’ backpacks are getting stuffed to the brim with all the items needed for the whole day, and the weight is starting to become overwhelming for students. Lockers were removed to prevent the spread of covid, but I have a proposition that would let students use lockers again while staying safe at the same time. Students will be split into groups 50/50 and one group can visit their locker every other period. So during periods A, C, E, and G group A will visit their lockers and during the other period’s group, B visits their lockers. Between the separation of Aquinas and Basil along with the separation of groups A and B, lockers should be able to be assigned with 6 feet of distance between students in corresponding groups. This will help students manage their weight load by giving them a new and safe way to use lockers.
