Round Up Holiday Wednesday?
This year our school has our Round Up Holidays applied to Fridays giving everyone a three-day weekend. Although the long weekend seems enjoyable, there are many benefits to applying the holiday to a Wednesday instead. If the holiday is on Wednesday then there are only two days of school before a small break, which would give students a chance to rest, catch up on any homework, or study for a test later in the week. This way everyone is always ready for a school day knowing they only have two days of hard work before rest instead of having to wait twice as long for a break. Also, putting the holiday in the middle of the week gives teachers a chance to grade papers or find new material as well as giving more flexibility in planning things later in the week. Moving any Round Up days to Wednesday will improve students’ focus and concentration on schoolwork as well as minimizing fatigue accumulated throughout a long school week.
