Phone use for underclassmen is a problem that should be addressed. Right now, phones are only allowed to be used freely in study hall for seniors or any underclassmen who has permission for school purposes. However, because of the block schedules, students have much longer study halls, especially if your class before lunch is a study hall. This gives students plenty of time to complete their work or get caught up in their classes. With this time given, students tend to finish almost all of their assignments and have nothing to do for the remainder of the study hall. I, currently, have study hall F period before my second lunch. I have a total of 2 hours and 20 minutes of silent study hall. With this time, I complete most of my work and do not have much to do, I get fairly bored and tired of work.  Because of this, all students should be able to choose to freely use their phone to avoid boredom and to have something entertaining after doing a load of work.
